A course for professional singers, students, and advanced amateurs. The Monteverdi Madrigal Week 2026
invites singers to one of the most inspiring cities in the world: Venice. Surrounded by historic palazzi,
churches, and shimmering waterways, we will spend a full week exploring the vocal music of the
Venetian golden age—an era of expressive depth, colour, and poetic intensity.

At the heart of the course are works by Claudio Monteverdi and his contemporaries, including composers such as Barbara Strozzi. Participants will work on both solo repertoire and ensemble literature - madrigals, operatic excerpts, and related works. In addition, there will be opportunities to explore rarely performed or entirely new repertoire.
